Love.. Found | BKK July 2012

Had the whole day to shop on my own, when hub was busy with his work

Spent almost the whole day at central world (most favourite!)

Random cuteness at a DIY shop

Huggable bear display, and brands mix at Uniqlo

Bidding goodbye over a hot bowl of tom yum,

while the poor hub had to continue to work in the next 3 days.

Flying back alone, with a 18.8kg shopping goodness :)

Bangkok... Please fly me there again soon!

Coffee Beans By Dao | BKK July 2012

Probably the best food find during our July Bangkok trip — Coffee Beans By Dao.

Vegetarian Spring Roll

*favourite* Minced-meat in Unique Wrap and refreshing sauce

Seafood Salad

Pad Thai

White Chocolate Cheese Cake, yummier than it looks

Strawberry Cheese Cake and Caramel Macchiato

Posing at its Ekamai branch

End Note: Husband tried the Singapore branch at Wisma Atria,
and verdict was: very far from the one in Bangkok!

Finding Love in BKK | July 2012

This post may not serve as the holiday guide for Bangkok, as most of you probably know better places and food to go. Thanks to a bunch of the mummies gang on fb, and tips from Andy's colleagues, we had enjoyable time in this short getaway :)

Checking-in at Grand Mercure Fortune Bangkok, we explored Central Plaza, which is directly opposite the hotel on that afternoon.

Took a cab to Platinum Fashion Mall to witness the shops after shops of wholesales heaven. Sadly, I couldn't find anything my size x.x . Got a few sets of children clothes and the street food satisfied our other side of craving :p

Some sort of chicken/shrimp meatballs right outside Platinum — yummeh!

We carried our night adventure to the Chinatown to hunt for the famous seafood stall. Nevertheless, we had a bowl of bird's nest goodness each as our appetizer.

Then, we found the red / green rivals seafood stalls — too obvious to miss! Both stalls were mad-packed. But the red-stall waiter was really friendly to hold us and find seats for us.

Contented husband waiting for food to be served :)

Thumbs-up for the grilled and fried seafood + the hot chilli. However, steamed fish and noodle were a bit bland. Overall, the squeezy-hot dining experience was still a great experience. Definitely would love to go back for this.

为你爱的人忙碌

It dawned on me today, when you are having a bad day,
and things aren't better no matter how hard you try to cheer yourself up...

stop all the things which you're trying to make up,

just think of your loved ones, think of what they need from you,
do what they have been wanting you to do, complete that little task that you promised them..

and everything turn completely ok in that magic speed.

 为你爱的人忙碌 — 是一件很幸福的事!

On A Lighter Note

Finally put effort in changing the blog's header photo.
This studio shot has resided really well for 2.5 years on PRIMAdaily.

Now, chosen the kids' recent photo taken in KL,
and a lighter colour range to liven up the mood.

Hope you'll like it.
And stay tuned for more updates, thoughts, places, activities, and foods :)

BRAVE

Our 3rd movie adventure with the kids last Sunday 9.9.12.

1st, was Cars 2, which we left half way through the show.
2nd, Madagasar 3, where Bosco only woke up towards the last 30mins of the show.

And this, was a very successful attempt as the kids stayed awake and attentive throughout the show.

How apt is this photo of Bosco :)

Kids, being kids...

Beating The Blues

Every second spent moaning and bitching is a second taken off your life.
Every second spent being cheerful and positive is a second added on.
— Richard Templar

Well, who doesn't need lots of seconds added on?
So, chin up and cheer up, for it's a new week ahead :)

Kuala Lumpur in June

Earlier in June, we went to have a short gathering with my family at KL. Everything happened too quickly. We stayed 1 night at Fahrenheit Suites to a total disappointment, and then moved out to have another night at Park Royal.

The main itineraries there were eating and hanging out. The children and my nieces had great time watching Madagascar 2 together, running about in the shopping mall and at the hotel. Andy and I managed to catch Hunger Games too, when it has stopped showing in Singapore.

Time for photos (beware, lots of narcissism)

Bosco posing at fahrenheit suites

Andy and his sweetie pie Chloe

This looked like the children modelling for giordano, huh?  >.<

Us — minus Andy and Chloe who went to hunt for place for dinner
And nana, as my reliable photographer!

After dinner — love our matching green attire :)

Kids version — posing for chanel??

Hello September

4 months to go for the year 2012, I hope we all make a good closure to it.

What I want to achieve by the end of this year is:
  • Consistently updating this blog — at least 2 posts weekly
  • Improve my weekly cooking menu and skills — a new dish weekly
  • Increase the reading by 10%
  • Really able to drive and park the car swiftly (!!!)
  • Live a well-balanced healthy life (good diet + good rest)
  • Exercise 三好 daily(做好事,说好话, 存好心)
  • Spend more quality time with the family (couple time with the husband, and more education and nurturing with the kids)

That's quite a list. Determination very much needed. I can do it!
