What Did We Do Best in Malacca?

The one routine we do when we traveled to Malacca, was to dine at Seri Nyonya Peranakan Restaurant, Equatorial Hotel Malacca. It's one of the factors why we kept going back to Equatorial, really!

Hardly had any photos taken on the food. On the contrary, the children were well-behaved and enjoyed posing for the cameras that night!

Evidence 1 — Dine with style

Evidence 2 — suavely smiling back at the camera

Evidence 3 — elegant pose bending the waist, or crazy gangnam style!

We ended the night with really good food and great company. *bliss*

That's just us on the way back to our hotel room.

The next morning — a million dollar smiles from the kids
Indeed it was a good sign for the great day ahead!

Dimsum brunch at 荣茂茶室 (Rong Mao Tea House).
Varieties within affordable price!

Posing outside the coffeeshop. Helper Nana clearly knows our expectation of taking a few different shots to capture the moment.

A little stroll down to the temple thereafter.
I like how my skin looked really glowing in this photo :)

and how Bosco looked really grown-up in these photos, with a glimpse of cheekiness

Cheeky boy in his own way.
See the behaviour differences between Chloe and Bosco in the car ride?

I should be posting 1 last entry for Malacca in the next post.

Be warned for there'll be lots of narcissism in the next post ;)

Til then...

Nyonya Food, Clean Freak and Iron Man

Certainly a random title for this post!
This was our first few stops and shots from Malacca which were worth mentioning! :)

I'm going to start with a late lunch at Nancy's Kitchen — raved by a lot of Singaporeans for its nyonya food. True enough the restaurant was packed on a Fri 2pm++

Food was good, but not as good as the one we had in the hotel .
But I loved the pie ti much, and the interior of the restaurant, in a 2-storey old house.
It reminded me a lot of my childhood days, wooden narrow staircase and wooden floorings.

Not much pictures captured 'cos I was using my 55–250mm lens, I must be too enthusiastic :P

SY tested out our camera and almost could capture our nostrils!
He had to take a few steps back for this shot, now showing our fine lines on the eyes!

Then we had fun taking a few more shots in the vicinity!
See how lovely is this? :) Rachel, you can jiayou for this!

Outside the restaurant. The classic gate door which looked like the one from my kampong house! And posing with nana, who has always been a great help!

After a good clean up and shower, the kids acted funny while waiting for the lift.

Not so funny for Bosco anymore when he caught Jerome's saliva on his hand, screaming.. "口水!!"
But the adults enjoyed that priceless moment a lot! hehehe

Strolling next door, at Dataran Pahlawan, we spotted this cool iron man in Marvel store, which kindly allowed us to take a photo with.. (If only Robert Downey, Jr. was there too! hiak hiak hiak)

Catch what we had on our first night in the next post!

A group of 7 adults + 4 kids

One of the challenges: cheeky kids

Uhm.. plus the monsoon rain almost every 4 hourly!

Don't worry! We did well, just keep following the blog :)

Not convinced yet?

Let Jerome convinces you with his 'signature' wink

Stay tuned! :)

Arts in Progress

A long hiatus from the last post, it seems that the 2-SAHM-day break had taken a toll on me!

There were just too many things happening at the same time. The kids were taking turn to fall sick. Shoo shoo all the viruses! There were a few events and many many tasks at work. Outings with the gang and a little short break to Malacca :) Will get to these slowly..

Now back to blogging, the thing is,... I ought to find that momentum again once I've stopped for a while. And finding the right one at the wee hour is quite a challenge.

So, I decided to present some of Chloe's recent artworks. I'm truly a fan of her drawing!

Pretty Hello Kitty mosaic art

Some close-ups on her lantern drawing/decoration
— notice the beautiful sun with nice mascara, blush and lipstick on?

She told me she drew a prince and princess

And she claimed that, this lovely pinky was me :)

She definitely could draw better than me :)
